The Front Door Test

The front door test

What your own quote form actually collects

In July I checked the quote form on 62 Alberta trades and construction companies. Nobody was contacted and no company is named. Answer six questions about your own form and see where you land against them. No email needed to see your score.

A form, a request button, anything that takes a job enquiry online.

It only counts as yes if it is a field with set options or a date, something you could sort and route by. A sentence in a message box does not count.

Two fields, not one. A single address box is a no.

Open your own site on your phone and tap the number. If nothing happens, it is text, not a link.

Pick your trade to see your score.

Nothing is sent anywhere until you ask for it.

What this means

Want the whole census, and the five fields I would put on a trades quote form I will send the full read: how each trade answered, what the platform defaults are doing to your numbers, and the field list.

Name, email and phone, and the email needs an @ in it.

One email with the read. No list, no sequence.

On its way

Thanks, that is on its way.

If you would rather just talk it through, book a time that suits you and we will go over your front door together.
