Why we built The Business Builders by Workplaces, and who it is for

Bruce Baker - Bringing World-Class Business Support to the Owners Who Need It Most
If you're working six days a week and still wondering where the reward went, you're not doing it wrong. You're doing it without a system. We come out of 25 years leading growth for Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 companies, where the same problem kept showing up: small business owners couldn't get that calibre of help without $400-an-hour retainers or abstract frameworks that don't match real-world pressures.
So we built a company designed to bring powerful, proven business building strategies to entrepreneurs, trades, and owners who needed more than theory. Through a blend of coaching and consulting, we work hands-on with small business leaders to help them implement systems, improve profitability, manage people, and take control of their business again. That work runs on the Seven Stages of Growth methodology from The ReWild Group, where Bruce Baker holds the Certified Organizational ReWilding Adviser (CORA™) designation.
This isn’t about whiteboards and binders. It’s about helping you solve the things keeping you up at night. Whether you’re starting up, scaling up, or fixing what’s stuck, you don’t need to do it alone.

Jen Garrison
Jen is a business strategist and communication expert who's worked nearly every role in a small business - from trades and dispatch to bookkeeping, sales, and team development. She's sold everything from real estate to electrical contracts, built multiple businesses, and ran a company alongside her husband.
This breadth of experience means she doesn't just advise - she understands the reality of what business owners and their teams actually face. Jen implements alongside her clients, staying until systems actually work.
20% of small businesses fail within their first year
Nearly 50% of new businesses won’t survive five years
Only 1 in 3 businesses make it to the 10-year mark
We exist to close that gap. As the backbone of the economy, small businesses deserve more than motivational quotes and cookie-cutter plans. They need strategic, hands-on support from people who understand what it takes to build, lead, and sustain real business results.
That is what we deliver, without $400-an-hour retainers.
